Welcome!
Welcome to the Methods Café at the University of Baltimore!
Methods Café is a monthly event series designed to bring students and faculty together to share knowledge, explore research tools, and strengthen methodological skills in a welcoming, collaborative environment.
We are currently curating our schedule of events for Fall 2025. Check out our calendar here for a list of events.
About Methods Café Sessions
Each Methods Café session has one of two primary formats:
🔍 Skill-Building Sessions:
In these sessions, a student or faculty member provide a 30 to 45 minute presentation teaching about a specific research method, analytical approach, or research tool. The goal is to help others learn how to apply new techniques in their own research through practical demonstrations and real-world examples.
After the presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask the presenter questions.
🎤 Research Exchange Sessions:
These sessions offer students and faculty a chance to:
present a research design, method, or challenge from your own project
get constructive feedback from peers, and
practice presenting in an academic setting - perfect for conference preparation!
All UBalt students, faculty, and invited guests are allowed to participate in either type of session. If you would like to present, please email mwilliamson@ubalt.edu with a brief description of your proposed presentation.
